Head of Purchasing & Supply Chain | Global Industrial Manufacturer | Virginia Beach

Build People is partnering with a global leader in industrial equipment on a confidential search for a Head of Purchasing & Supply Chain. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the President, with a Director and a team under it. It owns purchasing and supply chain strategy for the US business.

What you'll do

• Set and lead the purchasing and supply chain strategy for the US organization
• Lead, develop and grow a team that includes a Director and senior managers
• Drive strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and long-term supplier partnerships
• Deliver measurable savings, inventory improvements and supplier performance gains
• Improve planning, inventory control and supply chain processes using ERP systems
• Work closely with sales, operations, finance and global supply chain teams
• Travel domestically and internationally about 25 to 35% of the time

What you bring

• 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain
• Proven experience leading senior managers or directors
• A track record of cost savings and supply chain improvements you can measure
• Strong ERP experience (SAP or similar)
• A bachelor's degree is required, and a master's degree is preferred
• CPSM or CSCP certification is preferred
• Industrial manufacturing or equipment experience is a plus
