Account Manager – Industrial Distribution


We are retained on a search with an industrial distributor looking for an Account Manager with industrial experience to join their team.


About the Role

This is a territory-based Account Manager position focused on growing revenue through a combination of existing account management and new business development. You will be selling a broad range of industrial products and solutions — including pumps, fluid power, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related motion control products — to customers across a variety of manufacturing and industrial end-markets.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established territory by building strong relationships with existing customers while actively pursuing new accounts
  • Call on plant managers, maintenance teams, engineers, and procurement personnel
  • Identify customer needs and present appropriate product and solution recommendations
  • Partner with internal application engineers and vendor representatives to deliver the right solutions
  • Develop and execute a territory plan to consistently hit and exceed sales targets
  • Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline, and forecasting through CRM


Requirements

  • 3+ years of outside sales or account management experience in industrial distribution or a related field
  • Pump experience is required — familiarity with fluid power, hydraulics, or pneumatics is a strong plus
  • Strong hunter mentality with the ability to open new accounts while retaining and growing existing business
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-through skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a broad territory
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region


Compensation


Competitive base salary + commission. Full benefits package including medical, dental, and 401k.
