About the Role

The Sr. Quality Manager will lead the strategic and operational direction of the Quality Department at a Northern California facility. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing Quality Engineering, Quality Control, RMA & Valve Service, and Document Control — serving as the primary escalation point for all significant quality issues, internal and customer-facing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop department-level managers and teams across Quality Engineering, Quality Control, RMA & Valve Service, and Document Control
  • Oversee the ISO 9001 QMS — ensuring ongoing compliance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical quality issues; drive timely resolution and communication
  • Track, analyze, and present quality metrics and KPIs to company leadership; identify trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure timely completion of CAPAs, DMRs, and RMAs
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management on product design and specifications
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, 8D, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
  • Drive cross-functional problem-solving to reduce rework, scrap, and warranty costs
  • Hire, train, coach, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS with hands-on certification maintenance experience
  • Strong proficiency in FMEA, SPC, CAPA, 8D, and root cause analysis
  • Experience in semiconductor or precision manufacturing highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Willingness to travel as needed
