General Superintendent – Mission Critical / Data Center Construction

Location: Lubbock, Tx (Travel Required)

Build People is representing a nationally recognized General Contractor seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead the field operations of a landmark 500,000-square-foot, 150MW hyperscale data center project.

This is a career-defining opportunity to join one of the industry's leading builders on a large-scale mission-critical development with a project value exceeding $1 billion. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving site operations, safety, quality, scheduling, and subcontractor performance from groundbreaking through commissioning and turnover.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all field operations for a 500,000 SF, 150MW mission-critical data center project.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Drive project schedules and coordinate all construction activities to ensure milestone achievement.
  • Oversee site logistics, workforce planning, material deliveries, and trade coordination.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Lead daily coordination meetings, pull-planning sessions, and look-ahead scheduling activities.
  • Work closely with Project Executives, Project Managers, owners, consultants, and design teams.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate project risks, delays, and constructability issues.
  • Ensure successful coordination of structural, architectural, civil, MEP, and commissioning activities.
  • Support commissioning and turnover processes in collaboration with mission-critical teams.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of construction experience with at least 5 years as a General Superintendent on large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience delivering mission-critical, data center, semiconductor, industrial, healthcare, aviation, or similarly complex projects.
  • Experience managing projects exceeding $250M in value preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, site logistics, safety management, and quality control.
  • Experience leading large field teams and coordinating multiple trade partners simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly technical construction environment.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and construction technology platforms.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
